Your Community Connection

Rock County Public Transportation is proud to offer safe, accessible, and professional transit services to the general public. Whether you need a ride to a medical appointment, a trip to the grocery store, or help getting across the county, our doors are open to everyone, including persons with disabilities. We are dedicated to keeping our community connected.

We provide transportation within the following counties and surrounding areas (other locations available upon request)

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Rock County: Bassett, Newport
Keya Paha County: Springview, Mills
Brown County: Ainsworth, Johnstown
Holt County: Stuart, Atkinson

Note: We are closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Transparent Fee Schedule

To keep our services sustainable and accessible, we utilize a straightforward mileage-based fee structure. All fees must be paid at the end of each ride. *Currently offering NO charge rides to any Rock county clinic, therapy or hospital appointment.

Companion Rides: For all trips, individuals riding to assist a scheduled passenger during their trip will not be charged.
Donations: As a community-focused service, voluntary donations are always gratefully accepted and help us continue to serve the Sandhills.

Demand Response: Flexible scheduling for your day-to-day needs.
Non-Emergency Medical: Specialized support for your healthcare appointments.
Out of Area: Transportation to medical appointments in all directions from Bassett (must be within the state of Nebraska).
