Swing Bed Services

The Swing Bed Program at Rock County Hospital is designed for qualifying patients who no longer require acute hospital care but aren’t quite ready to return home safely. It provides a transition period where patients can regain their strength and independence under 24-hour medical supervision.

Who’s it for?

Patients recovering from major surgery (like hip or knee replacements), those finishing an IV antibiotic course, or anyone needing intensive physical therapy after a stroke or illness.

Local Advantage:

Even if you or a loved one had surgery at a larger facility in Kearney or Omaha, you can request a transfer to Rock County Hospital’s Swing Bed program to complete your recovery closer to family and friends.

Skilled Nursing: 24/7 care
Rehabilitation: Access to in-house physical and occupational therapy to help you reach your goals.
Personalized Care: Our team—including physicians, nurses, and dietitians—works together to create a customized plan for your transition back to daily life.
