**Watch for early symptoms of heat exhaustion:**

If these symptoms appear, move to a cool place, drink water, and begin cooling down.

🚨 **Heat stroke is a medical emergency.** Seek immediate medical attention if someone develops confusion, slurred speech, fainting, seizures, or a temperature of 104°F or higher.

**A few simple ways to stay safe:**

🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
👒 Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.

📢Medicare's New $50 GLP-1 Weight Loss Drug Program – Here's What You Need to Know!📢

Starting **July 1, 2026**, Medicare is launching a temporary **GLP-1 Bridge Program**, giving eligible Medicare beneficiaries access to certain weight-loss medications for just **$50 per month**.

**Covered Medications**
✅ Foundayo® (tablet)
✅ Wegovy® (injection or tablet)
✅ Zepbound® (KwikPen® only)

**Not Covered**
❌ Single-dose Zepbound® vials or pens
❌ Other GLP-1 medications not included in the program

**Program Details**
💲 Fixed copay: **$50/month** (regardless of income)
📅 Available **July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027** (pilot program)

**Who May Qualify?**
You must have **Medicare Part D** coverage and meet the program's medical eligibility requirements based on your BMI and certain qualifying health conditions.

**How to Get Started**
✔️ Your healthcare provider must prescribe one of the covered medications for weight loss.
✔️ Our pharmacy will initiate the prior authorization process and work with your provider to submit the required documentation.
✔️ Most requests are expected to be processed within **72 hours**.

**A Few Important Things to Know**
• This is a temporary pilot program that currently ends December 31, 2027.
• Not everyone taking or interested in a GLP-1 medication will qualify.
• The $50 copay does **not** apply toward your Medicare Part D deductible or annual out-of-pocket maximum.

📣 Telepharmacy Update! 📣

We're getting closer to being fully operational with insurance billing!

Telepharmacy regulations differ from those of traditional pharmacies, so the credentialing process has taken longer than expected. The good news is that all required licenses and inspections have been completed and approved!

Our telepharmacy is open and serving patients, and we have submitted all necessary information to the insurance companies. We are currently waiting for them to add us to their provider networks so we can begin processing your prescriptions through insurance at the telepharmacy location.

In the meantime, patients can still have prescriptions filled through their insurance at Rock County Pharmacy and have them sent to Sandhills Pharmacy for pickup. All you need to do is let us know your delivery preferences, including where and when you would like your prescription sent!

We appreciate your patience as we work through this final step. We are excited to offer this service to the community and hope to be able to provide full insurance processing soon!
